Grateful Saturday

I am grateful I got to spend time last night with a lost friend. She is a special soul and I have learned much from her. I am thankful I have new organic makeup to use to help be feel better about myself. I am trying hard to slow down and appreciate what I have
I need to do more, will do more to take care of myself from eating right, drinking right and taking care of my emotions.

Day 1

Cannot stop eating, caramel rolls, candy, fruit cups, bread sticks ... You name it I have eaten it today. Hormones are all there which supports the pattern but hate it all the same.

Got off course after some recent company. Way over did it. Trying to recover and get back into good habits.

Need to take a break from dairy and sugar for a couple of weeks.

Grateful Saturday 2/6

I am grateful we can work as a family to get the house ready and that we are not so overwhelmed with activities that would not be possible.

I am grateful that my Isogenix shipment arrived prior to starting work. I can have a shake for lunch while I have a conference call with my new boss.

Grateful Friday 2/5

I am grateful for my last day of sleeping in. I am grateful for an awesome facial yesterday and having money to buy products.

I am stressed that Joe brought home news yesterday that I will have to be more of a project instead of a product manager. I need to understand the expectations for my role. What success looks like. I am a little disappointed that my first meeting with my new boss will be over the phone but shakes here I come at least for a little while. I need to relearn what hungry feels like and need to eat to live not to deal with stress.

Grateful Thursday 2/4

I am grateful for these last couple of days with no work responsibilities. I am grateful my husband has given me time just for me.

I am worried about starting work and keeping it all together. Eating, working out, keeping up with the kids, maintaining their schedules. What if I cannot keep up with work. First time as an employee in five years.

My plan is to work out in the morning. I plan to use the shakes to figure hunger. I don't know how to transition of them but they are so expensive I will have to. I am trying not to worry about that yet.

Friday 1/8

Made an awesome dinner of turkey meatloaf, mashed potatoes with butter, cream cheese and sour cream, roasted broccoli, peas, gravy, salad and rolls. I could not stop eating though :-) The cheese cake even turned out good. I did not work out since I was so busy cleaning the house and getting ready for the party. I started cooking at 3:00 and we ate 5:30.

Today I had a shake breakfast. For lunch I had leftover meatloaf, broccoli, potatoes and a ciabatta roll. Now I have heartburn. I think I put to much adobo on the broccoli. I did do a great cardio workout at Laura's house though. I have also ordered supplements and shakes through Laura. Expensive but high quality.

Very, very tired today. Woke up and had 1/2 banana, applesauce and a shake (not great but not horrible). For lunch had a green salad with caesar dressing and Amy's ravioli. For dinner the kids are going to have hot dogs and vegetables. I am nervous about my interview today. I obviously struggling being just a stay at home mom. I miss having other things to focus on, I am not happy to clean and organize the house.

Post Christmas vacation

It has been difficult getting back to into the groove. Yesterday I did a very tough workout at Laura's house. I wanted to quit, leave the room and cry all at the same time. It stunk. I had a shake breakfast which kept me full until lunch. For lunch I had Samaso but then I could not stop eating in the afternoon. Good news was after lunch

Sleep: C: (did not stop reading until after 10; which was 1+ hours)

Exercise: A (tough workout at Laura's and ran 1 mile)

Food: B (good breakfast, no snacking after dinner, did not do well during the afternoon)

week 1

Staying home is difficult. Depression creeps in more often when you don't have more to do then housework and photos. I try to play more with the kids and that is fun but then I feel guilty I am not doing more "work".

I have been working out about 5 days a week anywhere from 30-50 minutes a day. I did a four mile run on Sunday. I am sure that is the only thing keeping me sane right now. I try to eat healthy. In the mornings I can do okay but the rest of the day forget about it. I know what I should do but I am to depressed, lazy, cheap or any other negative adjective to make make healthy food. Part of me feels like I am not worth it and I am the only that will eat it. Joe makes it sounds so easy. Just eat Paleo and we will all feel better except the kids rarely touch it and are only happy with tacos, chicken nuggets, burgers or pancakes.

For sure I feel a lot more bloated with bread and cheese. These are my nemesis.

Blogging for Health

"In general I tell people to add instead of remove. When you add something, something else naturally has to fall away. Plus you’re focusing on an action you CAN do versus trying NOT to do something you’re already in a strong habit of doing." from David Dellanave

I am going to focus on eating good fats, vegetables and fruit at breakfast, lunch and dinner. I am going to work out three days a week. I am already enrolled in Laura's bootcamp and I did PiYo today. I am also going to try to drink more tea and more water. Finally I am going to get more sleep...going to bed at nine will make me feel better and be a better mom. http://www.niashanks.com/20-tips-binge-eating/

Joe cannot do bread

Joe got sick again tonight. Over the last couple of weeks it has been multiple times in a week. He thinks it is definitely related to bread.

Sugar Free Journal

Day 1
I am little skeptical this work any better then any other diet that we have been on the last couple of years. It started with promising to eliminate certain sweeteners and sugars from your diet. I am definitely craving more to eat and am trying to drink water, tea and soup to help that.
- I also have been very nervous and uncomfortable with Michelle's mastectomy. It reminds me of my mom and I want to be there to help. It sounds like just words so we are trying to think of ways to support her and the family from here.
- I do very much want to be able to say no to mindless grazing, finishing an entire loaf of garlic bread, eating an entire loaf of cinnamon bread or just cannot stop eating. I have gained 10+ pounds since we went off paleo before Thanksgiving. When we were doing Paleo I slept awesome, was hungry all of the time but felt good, had better focus and overall less guilt.
- I also think it would be good for the kids...they are getting used to frozen pizzas a couple of times a week, and lots of other yucky packaged food that are full of preservatives. They deserve to develop good habits dependent on whole food. I want them to reach for vegetables and fruit instead of chips. I want them to not use bread as a comfort food but instead talk about their problems.
-   I am not trying to eliminate dairy at the same time because I really want this to be a long term commitment. First sugar and grains and move on from there.
- I am also trying to commit to exercise periodically because that makes me feel better too.
Julie

By the end of the day totally cheated although stopped eating by seven. It was Joes bday, lost my temper with the kids too.

Day 2
Did not eat any added sugar but I did have three pieces of homemade bread. It was yummy. I was super tired this morning so Mollie and I watched cartoons for two hours. It was glorious. Later on worked...so sore I feel like an old lady. I made paleo Kung Pau chicken the kids hated and the grownups loved.

Michelle made it home, tired and sore but there. I am thankful she is through the first part of the journey. Praying for good test results now. We have not heard anything about those yet.

Day 3 gave up

Going to School

The kids are going to school. We were really nervous about the kids each starting a new school. We talked with each of the kid's teachers prior to their starting. Alessandra's teacher Mrs. Ryan is so nice. We have talked a couple of times since she started. Alessandra has been testing her. She hit another kid, she would not sit down when asked, and she went into other little boy's space. She feels like she needs to be perfect and gets mad when someone does better then her. She has gotten up and gone every morning with a good attitude. She has brought home work that she has completed and is making friends. Vincent is trying to make friends too. On the first day they said he was supposed to go to Step by Step but it was Tuesday and so he thought he should go home. He told his teachers that he was supposed to be going home. They did not believe him. He said if I have to sit here all day he would and was not going to Step by Step. They called and got it figured out and he went home but he was steadfast that he was going home.

Post vacation priorities

I got up this morning made a smoothie with lots of vegetables and fruit

Spinach
Celery
Cucumber
Blueberry
Mixed citrus fruit
Orange juice
Almond milk
Flaxseed

Verdict didn't love the taste, to high in sugar and calories

Lunch meatloaf,  mixed veg and salad

Verdict tasted good but ate much

Dinner was the deli counter at whole foods

Verdict it was filling but I still did not feel full will try again tomorrow

Today it was overwhelming going back to work, trying to be useful, dealing with the house,  Alessandra melting down and Mollie getting hurt.

The morning was better and then it went down hill
